Please review these guidelines thoroughly prior to booking your charter. When you reserve a charter with MidwayResource, you are consenting to these terms for refunds.

Standard Cancellation and Refund Timeline

Over 72 Hours Prior to Charter

100% Refund

Qualified for: Complete refund except for service charges

Refund Period: Approximately 5-7 working days

Service Charge: €50 on card payments

Prerequisites: Needs to be applied for through a written request by email or call

Between 24 to 72 Hours Prior to Charter

50% Refund

Qualified for: Half of the full cost of the charter

Refund Period: Roughly 7-10 working days

Service Charge: €25 taken out of the refund amount

Prerequisites: A valid justification is necessary; administrative expenses will be incurred

Less than 24 Hours Before Charter

No Refund

Qualified for: Refunds are not provided

Exception: Consideration for emergency scenarios may be given

Alternate Option: Credit for future charters might be offered at the discretion of the management

Prerequisites: Proof required for emergency-related claims

Cancellations Due to Weather

Our Commitment in Case of Bad Weather

Safety comes first. If our certified captain deems the weather conditions as unsafe for sailing, we provide adaptable options:

  • Complete Refund: If rescheduling is not possible, a full refund will be given
  • Change of Date: You can alter your reservation to another available date with no additional fee
  • Charter Credit: A voucher that is valid for one year from the original date of the charter

Method of Determining Weather Conditions

We assess weather conditions by examining:

  • Analysis of wind strength and direction
  • Evaluation of wave height and seaworthiness
  • Forecasts on visibility and precipitation
  • Advisories and warnings from the Coast Guard
  • A safety judgment from a professional captain

Decision Timing: Determinations regarding weather-related cancellations are made at least 4 hours before the planned departure.

Refunds Due to Medical Emergencies

Situations of Urgency

We are empathetic to the reality that health crises can happen. The following instances could be eligible for exceptional consideration:

  • A sudden disease or injury demanding hospitalization
  • Death within the immediate family
  • Unanticipated military deployment or urgent recall
  • Summons for jury duty or legal proceedings
  • Natural disasters impacting travel plans

Documentation Requirements

Requisite documentation to process emergency refund claims should include:

  • Medical documents or records from hospitals
  • Death certificates (if relevant)
  • Orders from the military
  • Legal summonses or jury notices
  • Emergency declarations or travel warnings

Procedure: Refunds for emergencies are handled within a timeframe of 3-5 business days following receipt of all pertinent documentation.

Cancellations Due to Operational Issues

Technical Problems

In the event that the yacht you reserved reports technical issues that we cannot fix:

  • Alternate Vessel: An effort will be made to provide a similar option
  • Complete Refund: If no appropriate alternative is available
  • Partial Refund: If the replacement yacht has a different rate
  • Reimbursement: You may be offered further compensation due to inconvenience

Lack of Crew

In the atypical situation that an approved crew is not available:

  • Endeavor to find an alternative crew when feasible
  • Complete refund if the charter cannot commence
  • Option to reschedule without any extra charges

Refund Procedures

Mode of Reimbursement

Refunds will be reimbursed through the original method of payment:

  • Credit Cards: Within approximately 5-7 business days
  • Bank Transfers: Typically between 7-10 business days
  • Cash/Cheque: Usually within 3-5 business days

Service Charges for Processing

Credit Card Handling

€50 fee for cancellations more than 72 hours beforehand

Bank Transfer Handling

€25 fee applied to all bank transfer reimbursements

Handling of International Transactions

Extra charges may be applicable for international payments

Issuance of Charter Credits

Circumstances for Credit Issuance

In particular situations, we might present charter credits instead of reimbursements:

  • Last-minute cancellations (under 24 hours notice)
  • Cancellations linked to weather
  • Requests made willingly for rescheduling
  • Disruptions in operations

Conditions of the Credit

  • Validity: 12 months from the date of issue
  • Transferability: Credits are not assignable to other individuals
  • Worth: Equals the total cost of the charter, no service fees deducted
  • Utilization: Can be allotted to any available charter in the future
  • Expiration: No extensions beyond the 12-month period

Partial Compensations for Incomplete Service

Service Disruptions

Should your charter get interrupted or curtailed due to reasons we control:

  • Proportional refund according to unutilized time
  • Credit for a future charter equivalently valued
  • Additional services or superior options gratis

Interruptions Brought By Guests

If a charter ends earlier than planned due to guest actions or violation of safety rules:

  • No compensation for remaining time
  • Full payment is still obligatory
  • Possible additional costs

Settling Disputes

If you contest a decision regarding refunds, your options include:

  • Submission of a re-evaluation request to our upper management
  • Providing supplementary support documents or evidence
  • Seeking assistance through customer protection organizations
  • Taking legal actions as per the governing laws

Final Step: Reviewing and Execution

We will acknowledge your submission within a day, weigh it against the conditions described in these guidelines, issue a conclusion within 48 hours, and carry out approved refunds within the previously mentioned time ranges.

  • All applications for reimbursements have to be submitted in written form
  • Reimbursements are implemented in € regardless of the payment currency initially used
  • Purchasing travel insurance is highly recommended
  • Changes to these policies may occur with a 30-day notification period
  • Reimbursements are dependent on taxes and regulations that apply
